Description
Lachin is home to some of the rarest mahogany tree forests in the world, different kinds of mineral water, cobalt, uranium, mercury, gold, iron, marble deposits in different colors and a variety of medicinal plants. It also has about 200 historical, cultural and architectural monuments, dozens of mounds, castle-type archeological monuments, numerous tombstones, stelae, horse, ram figures and plot stones. Lachin is the production center of the famous Garabagh “Gasimushagi” carpet. It was occupied by Armenia from 05.18.1992 and liberated by the Azerbaijani army on 01.12.2020.
