Description
Turunj is the name of a fruit (lemon), which thanks to its pleasant odour, served as a gift in ancient times. A copper tray with the fruit often was placed or hung in the middle of a room (this tradition still exists in the north-east of Iran), and this fact, according to some interpretation, has resulted in association with the middle of the carpet.
