Laley-Abbasi – Diamond

Description

This motif, also referred to as “Madahil” (doorways) or scepter head, is often found in Persian and Talysh carpets. This border is reciprocal – each part of the motif has the same shape so that two motifs fit together and are completely congruent. Any of these parts can be interpreted as subject or background.
