Description
Carpets from the Gazakh school attracted foreign buyers with their unique ornaments and took their well-deserved places in different museums around the world such as Berlin Art Museum, Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Hermitage, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Budapest Art Museum.
This model was inspired by the ‘Aghajly’ carpet from Shikhly, which is a part of the Gazakh carpet-weaving school. Shikhly carpets are considered a classic example of Azerbaijani folk art. The long element in the middle area looks like a cypress tree (the cypress is considered to be a holy tree in the Middle East, as in Azerbaijan).
