Turunj served as a gift in ancient times due to its pleasant adore.Acopper tray with the fruits was placed or hanged in the middle of the room (this tradiotion still remains in NorthEast Iran). According to some interpretations, this tradition has resulted the association of turunj with the center of the carpet.
