Description
It has been widely used in rugs and weavings throughout the oriental carpets as a filler motif. This motif is common in Azerbaijani carpets, for example in so-called Talish borders, Pirabedil carpets.
These earrings have also been decorated with S-shaped motifs which are believed to be a symbol of funnelled flow of water and thus, hint at ameliorated way of life or, alternatively, stand for fertility and immortality
