Tovuz – Earrings

Although Tovuz has only recently been named as a city, the region is one of the oldest areas of human settlement in Azerbaijan and was home to indigenous people. This is shown by a large number of ancient monuments found in the territory of this region, as well as the unique patterns and images on antique plates, found during archaeological excavations. Ashuq music, an inalienable part of Tovuz folklore and culture, is symbolically indicated on the pieces by the national musical instrument ‘Saz’.
