Description
Malibeyli carpets derive their name from a village situated near Shusha. In this village, while men were engaged in cattle-breeding and crop cultivation, carpet weaving emerged as the primary occupation for the women of Malibeyli. The patterns adorning these pieces of art draw inspiration from Uyghur/Chinese art, introducing five distinct shapes into Azerbaijani popular art. This infusion seamlessly melded with the local culture, facilitated by the religious beliefs and lifestyle of the population.
