Description
Historical research reveals that pile-free carpets were traditionally prevalent in the households of the Shirvan population. Even on these pile-free carpets, simple artistic compositions emerged, many of which, defined by geometric elements, have remained unchanged to the present day. Particularly captivating examples of craftsmanship can be seen in the locally referred to “guyrumlu” kilims. These rugs have their central area divided into two parts, each showcasing vertical rows of squares adorned with rhombuses.
